The Netball Club (TNC) is run by two local mums who love to play netball. They met playing in a local social team and decided to join forces to create a new, fun and exciting new league locally to the Crystal Palace area.
Formed at the end of 2015, the first league started in January 2016 at Harris Academy Crystal Palace. TNC now run four leagues, Monday (social/intermediate) at Norwood School, Tuesday (social) at Sydenham High School, Wednesday (social) at Bromley High School and Thursday (social) at Harris Academy, all indoor courts, with some locations using the outdoor courts during the summer and school exam times.
The leagues are social fun leagues, with usually between 5-7 teams in each league. A typical season will run for about 8/9 weeks, depending on how many teams sign up. The winner will either be who is at the top of the table at the end of the season or it is decided by a finals night.
It doesn’t matter if you haven’t played netball for a long time. A lot of people who first join the leagues haven’t played since school!
“Since joining the ‘The Netball Club’ I have been very impressed with the organisation. There is great care taken over planning matches and training sessions. The company is run by keen netball players and their passion for the game shows through and makes it different from other leagues I have been part of.
I was lucky enough to attend a training session they organised recently with England Player Eboni Beckford-Chambers. This was not only a great learning opportunity but also great fun. Fun is definitely the key word when talking about The Netball Club, a great place to get fit, discover your love of netball again and make great friends.”
“I joined the Netball Club never having played netball in my life. The club is very well-organised, which meant I quickly learned the rules and what to expect from each game, and the other players are incredibly supportive and friendly. As a result, I feel increasingly confident in my growing netball skills and fitness, and I’m loving playing a team sport for the first time in years.”
